Hi all. I am a nurse at a major central hospital and work on their intermediate heart unit. Other than the computer system they have, I also utilize a Palm T/X downloaded w/ a number of medical applications. We are not allowed to carry cell phones so I am not able to advance to a smart phone, but the T/X does perform very well.
I am always looking for new apps, especially in the medical field.

Welcome to the conversations on HealthTechnica!!

In regards to your phone.  We are using iTouch ipods instead of iphones.  The iTouch can run almost any application that runs on the iPhone, but we don't have the security problems of the camera, the phone, or the monthly charges.

Some of the apps for the iTouch:  Care360 EMR, Epocrates, Med page, Voalte, i-Surgery Notebook, and may others...

The iTouch ranges from ~200$ - $350.  the real advantage is it can be connected to your organizations wireless network and not incur any monthly charges.
