The iPad has opened a lot of eyes in medical world towards the advantages of point of care technology. Quick and nimble, the iPad has been a great opening tool for many physicians.
Microsoft’s coming “Windows 8″ operating system may just bring those physicians back to the dark side. With immensely more flexibility, much more robust application bases, and an interface that is just as easy an Apple device, but with the power of a PC, this Windows 8 demo is very much worth a watch.

Bookmarking for future clam chowder. Quite frankly, windows has done near to nothing in the mobile healthcare space. Apple has the most promise, but it still has a long way to go. The largest and most prestigious EHR vendor in the US has developed an iPad app. We will just have to see where windows 8 ends up, but my guess is about like every other mobile OS they have released: nowhere.
