HealthTechnica is currently building a forum for Health Information Technology, Clinical providers, and all other allied staff to talk about the world of HIT.
What would you like to see? What are the main topic areas you think need to be broken out? Are there features you think would help to enable better communication? Please give feedback in the comments so we can all learn and build a better community!!

How do we measure and ensure accuracy and quality of health information targeted at consumers?
1. Integrating EMR with PMS (to facilitate admin and billing)
2. Identification, capture and reporting of quality and performance measure.
3. Capture and exchange of customer service and call tracking between providers and payers using social media and PDA-type devices.
4. Data exchange and application interoperability standards
I’d like to see reasoned discussion on risks / benefits of social media access inside the workplace. And the same analysis of hosted services vs. in-house for Intranets, HR systems, etc.
Some topics I’d like to see:
* CAQH data consolidation
* Provider Credentialing solutions
* Reducing costs in managing Providers
* Hosted Solutions
I would like to see examples of how health information exchange–cooperative pooling and sharing of data among groups of providers–can be used to improve patient care for underserved populations and address community public health problems.
Some topics I’d like to see:
HITECH
Mobility
Standards
User Experience
Cloud options
Web vs. Network
Security solutions
Privacy solutions
Should come as no surprise that I think health literacy is a major topic/area and I’m wondering how definitions and standards for health literacy might need to be tweaked for the HIT environment.
