HIMSS looking to honor the best of Health IT

HIMSS has opened the 2009 Awards Program for the best of the health IT world. They are nominating in many categories:

Industry Awards
This category of awards recognizes those individuals who have contributed to the professions represented by HIMSS members.

·        ACCE-HIMSS Excellence in Clinical Engineering and IT Synergies Award
·        CHIME-HIMSS John E. Gall Jr. CIO of the Year Award
·        Nursing Informatics Leadership Award
·        Physician IT Leadership Award
·        SHS-HIMSS Excellence in Healthcare Management Engineering/Process Improvement Award

Service Awards
These awards recognize those who have contributed their resources to benefit the Society.

·        Distinguished Fellows Service Award
·        John A. Page Outstanding Service Award
·        Founders Leadership Award
·        Outstanding SIG Member Award

Publications
This award acknowledges publications which provide guidance and/or strategic insight for healthcare information and management systems professionals.

· Book of the Year Award

Chapter Awards
These awards recognize innovation and quality practices in HIMSS Chapters, promote recognition within the chapter community and HIMSS.

· Chapter Innovations Award
· Chapter Leader of the Year Award
