This isn’t my typical blog item, but if you follow me on Twitter you know that I tweeted the whole way through the tornado last night (even with no power
The Twitter world was so impressed that I have apparently “won the Internet”…..several times even ….
I have to thank the litterly HUNDREDS of people that replied and RT information on the storms last night. I know at the very least, a very worried father who is away from his Austin home for the week was kept in communication last night. Luckily injuries from the night’s storms were very light all around.
My wife, brother, and I were able to take some video last night. We watched the tornado form in the sky (but not touchdown) before the hail drove us indoors. We have transitioned a few together here:
Watching the storm before touchdown in Austin
Lightning constant throughout the night, even after the twister.
My videos are VERY LAME compared to this one caught by some of the storm chasers. Judging from the angles, my estimate is that they caught this video about 2-3 miles south of my house. Great job storm chasers!!! You made an excellent video!
