What the hell does this picture have to do with health care?
On the face of things, this pic has nothing to do with health care. It is just a damn funny demotivational poster. However, if we start to insert some metaphors you start to draw some connections.
Lawnmower = Electronic Health Record….. will it really get you where you want to go?
Fat guy = staffing…. it gets the job done, but we need to be leaner
Paintball gun = how many times have you used a tool in your job to just “pray and spray” to get something done. I am sad to say I have to do it all the time.
Sword = great tool…. CPOE, Disease management, e-prescribing, etc…. all great tools. They are also totally ineffective if you don’t have the proper processes on how to use them
Wagon = health care is always stuck pulling baggage behind us. Sometimes it is insurers, sometimes it is litigation, sometimes just trying to keep up with regulation
The white house in the back corner = yes… you guessed it…. the government is always standing somewhere behing us….lurking.
Totally random post today…. we need that sometimes.
