The Japanese fight air borne disease and contaminents with new technology

The first thing I thought with this tech is “how long before we put it to use against new airborne flu virus”? I think we will need to keep the Japanese and Chinese experiences with SARS in mind as we take on new variants of Swine Flu and others.
